This week in Preschool....September 16-20, 2013

This week we continue to learn about creation in Jesus Time.
We have been learning "The Butterfly Song", "My God is So Great", "God is So Good", and other songs.
This week we were learning how to hold our scissors and to cut a straight line.

This week we have learned about textures, hard, soft, bumpy, smooth, silky, shiny, etc., and we made a texture collage.  We also made and played with goop,(which is cornstarch and water), and added water to make different consistencies.

This week we leaned how to graph pasta by color, then we got to make a pasta picture.  We also sorted fish by color and used the tweezers to pick them up.  Tweezers help strengthen the hand muscles for using scissors.

We like to build with the blocks, it is so fun to see their creations.  Housekeeping is one of the favorite activities, we have some really great cooks in our class. We like making things on the light table, and putting together floor puzzles.  We enjoy the sand table, we use funnels and construction toys.  We also like to use our giant wipe board.

We got to easel paint. and bundle crayons to draw a picture, and use bandaids to make our own art.When we pull the stickers off the bandaid it helps us with our fine motor skills.

Since we are learning about creation, we are learning about animals and their homes, and parts of plants.
Our stories this week were:  Alphabet Mystery, Alphabet Rescue, The Falling Leaves, Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star, and If You Give a Cat a Cupcake.

Next week we will be learning about Noah and God's promise.  We will make a class rainbow, and each child is encouraged to bring 1 small item of each color in the rainbow and we will compile them on Monday and Tuesday to make a large rainbow to display in our room.
