This week in preschool...January 26-30, 2015

I will give thanks unto the Lord. Psalm 9:1
This week in Jesus Time we learned about the 10 Lepers.  Jesus healed 10 lepers, however, only 1 came back to thank Jesus.  Jesus heals us, and he healed us of our sin-sickness, by dying on the cross, and rising again.  This week we sang our Bible verse as we would sing a scale.  I invite you to share that with your child, and have them sing it with you.

This week in Art we made symmetric mittens.

We made foam penguins.

We easel painted.

We mixed glue with shaving cream and added some glitter to make puff paint, and we made winter pictures.

We made  hearts, where we had to trace the heart shape, then spread glue on the heart, and tear tissue paper to cover the heart.  Tearing paper is a great pre-writing skill, as we are building our hand muscles, to use writing instruments the correct way.

We had a building station with marshmallows and toothpicks.  This is a great STEM learning project. (Science, Engineering, Technology, and Math)

We spelled our names using play dough and cookie cutters.

We are also practicing writing our names on the iPad, using the Doodle app.

In small group this week we played I spy math, where we had to find objects by color, size, shape, and characteristics that were on a tray.

We did clothespin count to help us recognize numbers and then make a correlation to how many clothespins to put on the side.  This also helps with fine motor by putting the clothespin on the plate.

We also made an x-ray, where we had to paint our hand, rub our hands together, then put them on the paper, then we used a scraper to put black paint over the top, and we have an x-ray.

Our own imaginative play...
