Back to School- September 6, 2013

We are off to a great start!  We are busy learning the rules and routine here at school.

We are learning to easel paint and use watercolor paints.  We are learning how the primary colors, when mixed make new colors.

We have been learning about shapes.  We have been detectives looking for shapes wherever we go.  We have made circle collages, drawn shapes in shaving cream, painted bubble wrap, painted the rectangle bricks outside with water, and sponge painted shapes.

We have also been using the tangrams, which are the shapes we have been learning to make pictures.

We have done some science experiments!  We saw what happens when you add vinegar to baking soda, and we used colored vinegar.  We used eyedroppers to help strengthen our fingers to get ready to learn to write.  We also had disappearing cornstarch.

Playing outside helps us with our large motor skills.

Playing with playdough strengthens our hand muscles.  We use our imaginations to play in the dramatic play area, and build with legos and blocks.

Book orders are going to be submitted on Wednesday, September 11, so you may order online until noon on Wednesday,
Don't forget pictures are next Thursday and Friday!
