This week we continue with the events of Holy week. We have learned about the Last Supper, how Judas betrayed Jesus for 30 pieces of silver, how Jesus went to the Garden of Gethsemane to pray and the disciples feel asleep, then Jesus was arrested. After Jesus was arrested they beat him, and put on a crown of thorns on his head. Then they put Jesus on the cross and put nails in His hands and feet. We know that even though this is sad, we can be happy that we know that Jesus does not stay dead. Next week we continue with Easter morning and telling the story using Resurrection Eggs.
In Small group, we looked at our fingerprints using a magnifying glass. It is so amazing to know that no one else has prints just like me. God is so great! We read, Whats comes in 2's, 3's & 4's?, which made us think of other things that might fit into each category. We also continue to work on our own classroom edition of THE LETTERS ARE LOST. We made an egg ramp to see what egg will roll faster? We learned that when Jesus died, rocks were split, so we looked at geodes, which are a type of rocks that have been split. We also did an experiment called colorful drops , which helps us understand rain. We played a game with the plastic eggs to help us recognize numbers.
This week we made a fruit scented painting, by spraying water on finger painting paper, and then we sprinkled dry jello over it. After reading Little Cloud we easel painted our own clouds on light blue (sky) paper. We made a salt shaker paper, we colored eggs with chalk, and made potato masher eggs.
