This week in preschool...April 14-17, 2014

Forgive us our sins.  Luke 11:4

This week we have been learning about the crucifixion of Jesus, by using Resurection eggs to tell the story.

We made bubble prints, using bubble wrap, we painted each circle, then we put paper over the top to see our design.  Some children made a repeating pattern.  We made paper plate Easter baskets by adding colored tissue paper, then after they were dry we cut them, stapled them, and added ribbon.  We easel painted.  We used the bottom of 2 liter pop bottles to dip in paint and make colorful flowers.

In Small group this week we had a mirror with plastic eggs on it, and we added a flashlight to see what the reflections looked like.  We played a game called "Roll and Fill", where we rolled the dice, then used tweezers to add that number of eggs into our egg carton. Great counting, one to one correspondence, and using the tweezers helped with strengthen our hand muscles.  We played a game to help us recognize colors, and add the correct color and number of buttons to the felt eggs.  We also played a game to help us recognize written numbers by calling out a number and lifting the egg up to see if the chick was hiding there.
