This week in preschool...August 17-21, 2015

Love each other as I have loved you.  John 15:12

This week in  Jesus Time we are using Peaceful Problem Solving, and we are learning about friends.  God made each of us, and He is our best friend.

We are adjusting to our new school year, learning about our friends and our daily schedule.  In our classroom we have a picture schedule to help the children understand our day, and so that they know that someone who loves them comes after story and music to pick them up or we have lunch at school.

We enjoyed having our hands painted, and drawing a self-portrait.

We easel painted, and learned how to use one color at a time, and to wipe off the paint brush to eliminate drips.

We made circle collages using bingo dabbers, stickers, foam shapes, and tubes to make circle prints in paint.

We were circle detectives and found circles around our school, and we practiced drawing them on the iPad.

We also drew circles in shaving cream.

We used paint rollers to paint on bubble wrap and make a picture called "Lots of Spots".

We played in the block and lego area, played with the trains, and built  Mr. Potato Heads.

We played with the play dough.  Playing with play dough helps us strengthens our hand muscles and we are learning to work together.

We have shells to investigate with the magnifying glass at our Science Center.

We had fun in the dramatic play area.  When children play in the dramatic play area it allows them to construct the world as they see it, act out feelings and emotions in a comfortable setting, role play real life situations, practice language social skills, and interact with other children in an informal setting.

We read books and put puzzles together.

We played with the light table.

We played with the cars.

We have pom poms in the sensory table to sort by color or size, and we can use tweezers to pick up, and strengthen our hand muscles.
We sorted by color.

Music Time...The Beanie Bag Dance, and The Bear Hunt

This week we read...

  1. What a wonderful first week of pictures showing what our children do while with you.

God Bless you, Mrs. Larson and Mrs. Wilke, for loving and teaching our precious ones.
