This week in preschool...January 5-9, 2015

The Lord has fulfilled His promise that He made.  2 Chronicles 6:10
Oh, Come let us worship and bow down.  Psalm 95:6
This week we learned about Simeon and Anna, who met baby Jesus at the temple.  We also learned about the wisemen, who came to visit Jesus, and brought Him gifts.  After they had worshiped Jesus, they went home another way, as King Herod was looking for the King, and wanted to harm Jesus.  We played Parachute Praise to help reinforce our Bible lessons this week.

In Art, we made icicle pictures by squirting glue in a line, and letting gravity pull it down to make drips, then we sprinkled glitter on it to shimmer like an icicle.  Preschool Art is learning the process, not that the product should look like an example, it is their own unique creation.

We also made popsicle stick snowflakes, which we had to put glue on the sticks , then use glitter flakes to cover it to make it sparkle.

We used cookie cutters dipped in paint to make starry night pictures to remind us that the wise men followed the star to worship Jesus.

We learned how to make snowflakes by cutting coffee filters.

We easel painted.

This week we began having Show and Share, where the children get to select a bag, and bring 1 Christmas gift, and then they give 3 clues, and the class tries to decipher what is in the bag from the clues.  This helps them with deductive reasoning.
