This week in preschool...December 1-5, 2014

Love your neighbor as yourself.  Matthew 19:19
This week we begin Advent, which  we prepare our hearts for the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ.  Each day we light the Advent candles during Jesus Time.  We began the week learning about Ruth and Naomi, and how they are an important part of Jesus' family, then we focused on the angel visiting Mary and telling her she was going to have a baby, a very special baby.  We also learned about John the Baptist.

This week we are having fun with Gingerbread.  We made paper gingerbread men, gingerbread houses with our book buddies, and baked gingerbread cookies.

We also made a Christmas tree, a Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer from our hands and feet, and we easel painted.

This week in Small group we did a visual discrimination activity, where the children had to find the 2 gingerbread that were alike.

On the iPads, we did an app called cookie maker, which we made virtual cookies step by step.
