This Week in Preschool...November 25-26, and December 2-6, 2013

Love your neighbor as yourself.  Matthew 19:19
The week of Thanksgiving we learned about Ruth and Naomi.  We learned that God works things out for your good and has given you salvation.

We have easel painted and fingerpainted.

We had a special guest come and show us yoga.

We played instruments and worked on playing loud and soft.  We also listened to different containers and tried to match them by sound.

Our stories were:
Give Thanks for Each Day
The Night Before Thanksgiving
Thanks for Thanksgiving

December 2-6, 2013
This week in Jesus Time we learned about the angel, Gabriel that brought Mary the news that she would have a baby, and His name would be Jesus.  We also learned about the birth of John the Baptist.

This week in Art we made Christmas Trees, and it's a secret, we easel painted, and made gingerbread men. Due to the snow day, next week we will continue our gingerbread activities.

During Center Time we made cards to send to servicemen/women, played gift hide-and-seek, did a Christmas countdown, and we will bake gingerbread cookies on Monday.

We love to play with our Christmas Tree and the Nativity Sets.

We love to play in our dramatic center.

This week we read....
Howard B. Wigglebottom
Clifford's First Christmas
The Gingerbread Man
Gingerbread Friends
Ten Gingerbread Men
The Gingerbread Baby
The Gingerbread Bear
The Gingerbread Girl

Next week we are going to bake a birthday cake for Jesus, and if you would like to donate the cake mix, and the ingredients to make it, frosting or sprinkles, please let Mrs. Larson know.  We will be baking on Tuesday and Wednesday, so we will need 2 cake mixes.

Also to celebrate our Savior's birth, you are invited to join us for chapel on Thursday, December 12, at 11:15 a.m. in the Concordia Center.

Book orders were in the cubbies, I will submit the orders on December 10 so that they arrive before our Christmas break.

If you have baby food jars or plastic baby food containers, our classroom supply is running low.

Also, if anyone would like to host our hermit crab for the Christmas break, please let Mrs. Larson know.  He is very easy to care for.

Hope you enjoyed your snow day!
