This week in Preschool October 15-18, 2012

This week we heard about the sad day that Adam and Eve disobeyed God and ate the fruit.  They made a thumbs down choice.  We also started learning about faithful Noah, and God's promise in the rainbow.

This week we washed our pumpkin, as we needed to get the dirt off from the pumpkin patch. Squirt bottles help us with hand control and using scissors.

After it was washed we made a hypothesis (Guess) if it would sink or float and made a chart to see who thought it would sink, and who thought it would float.  We put in little pumpkins and our big pumpkins.  Do you know what  happened?  Ask your preschooler!
Then we went around the room and found items that we could put in the water to see if they would sink or float.  Ask them what they found and if it could float.

We made filter foliage pictures, by water color painting a coffee filter, then we removed the filter and had color underneath.  We also did the tickle technique, we painted with a feather.

We were working very hard at filling the buckets and wheelbarrows outside.  THANK YOU GOD FOR NICE WEATHER!  They were working together.
We are having a great time with show and share.  The kids are giving three clues, and the other kids are using those clues to try to figure out what is in the bag.  Then they get to walk around the carpet and each friend gets to touch it with 1 finger.  Please remember to send the bag back the next day that they have class, as they anxiously anticipate their turn.
We always enjoy reading books!

Blessings on your week, and I look forward to meeting with you next week for Parent/Teacher Conferences.

If you haven't checked your child's extra set of clothes, now would be a great time as the seasons change we might need to replace the shorts with pants, and the kids are always growing.

Don't forget to read the Charger News for all the CCLS information, and check out the family concert on November 1 at the Webster Campus, we play Arison's CD's in our classroom, and one of the songs that the class enjoys is Adam and Eve.
