September 3-13, 2019

God formed the man of dust from the ground.  Genesis 2:7

In Jesus Time....We have continued with our Getting Along Early Years, and we have now begun learning about Creation.













Chapel was led by Mrs. Larson, and we learned about the church and how we want to let Jesus' love bubble over.




Chapel on September 10 was led by Dr. Hoehner, and we learned about the 10 Commandments...



Each morning we check our job, and we sign in...
Art...
We made balloon prints...






We sponge painted shapes...





We easel painted...















We made pictures using strips of paper and various sizes of craft sticks...

We made paper plate fish...




We made jelly fish using a paper plate...





We marble painted...





















We water colored fish shapes...



Small group has been working on shapes, colors, and names...

We found our names on the playground and squirted them away...


We made shapes on the playground with templates and chalk...and also in the classroom...






We drew shapes in shaving cream...



We used magnetic letters to sort by color...




We made shapes disappear on coffee filters...

We strengthened our hand muscles by putting rubber bands on pool noodles...

During our Exploring time...
We learned and explored with Magnets at the Science Center...







We also  learned about ocean animals and looked as sea shells...





Manipulatives provide an opportunity for the child to:

  • group, sort, and match different objects
  • improve fine muscle control and eye-hand coordination
  • develop visual discrimination
  • practice problem solving skills
  • enjoy the manipulation of various materials
  • develop number and math skills




We had ocean puzzles available each morning...


We counted M&M's on the cookies in the cookie jar...



We sorted by shape...


We counted our shapes out to match the number...


We played Ocean Animal Bingo...



We built...using legos, and blocks...











We used our imaginations at the Dramatic play area..













At the Writing Center we using bingo dabbers, water colors, scissors, and various coloring  materials...










We are strengthening our hand muscles as we make creations with our play dough...




We sorted, used tweezers, and scooped in our sensory table filled with pom poms...


Then we changed it to water, and added ladles, and balls to scoop....










We made unique creations at the Light Table...










We started each day off practicing our Drive and Draw shapes...

We enjoyed a visit from the Kirkwood Library...
