This week in preschool...November 9-13, 2015

I am with you always.  Matthew 28:20
This week we learned about the tabernacle being built.  The tabernacle was God's house, and they were able to move it as they moved.  The people helped build the tabernacle, and they brought jewelry, cloth and sweet smelling spices to help build the tabernacle.  The people gave their time, talents, and treasures.

We also learned about Gideon.

We talked about Operation Christmas Child and how we could fill a shoebox for a child.

This week we learned about the letter W.  On our alphabet page we watercolored.

In Art, we made handprint turkeys.

We made noodle necklaces, which helped our fine motor, and eye-hand coordination skills.

Painting offers the child an opportunity to:

  • plan the activity
  • receive sensory pleasure
  • discover color, shape, and texture by using various paints
  • create an expression of self
  • develop fine muscles and eye-hand coordination
  • use symbols to represent objects

We easel painted.

We made straw paintings. We tried to blow the colors and make a design.

WOW DAY FUN...

We did an experiment with pinecones to see what happens in different jars.  We had one jar as the constant, so it did not have anything in it, one jar, had cold water, and the other jar had warm water.  We learned that when pinecones are put in water or when they get wet outside they close up.

This week we read...

The Littlest Pilgrim
The Turkey Train
The Silly Turkey Party
The Great Turkey Race
